Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
The new Pull-up structure is complete! So don't be completely surprised if we throw some Pull-ups at you. At CrossFit Redding we can honestly say that we have the best Pull-Up structure in Redding. In fact we'll challenge anyone to a Pull up contest. Pick your Poison...
We will however be at LEMA Ranch (McConnell Foundation) for a Run! We are doing "Run for Your Mental Health" to help raise money for
New Directions to Hope. Come down for the Kids Dash at 800am, then do a 2.5 mile Walk/Run, or go big and do the 4 mile Run (NOTE: Cubby has committed to doing the 4 mile run with the 20# weight vest).
If any of you really need a WOD after the run.....I'm sure we can come up with something!

On Monday (Memorial Day) we will only be open for a 10am WOD. It is HIGHLY likely that it will be a HERO WOD.
What is a HERO WOD? It is a workout dedicated to a fallen soldier, firefighter, police officer, etc. that has paid the ultimate price for serving their community and/or country. The HERO WOD's are typically more challenging and test the heart/will of a person. When working through these WOD's, it's important to remember that the pain/struggle of the workout pales in comparison to what the HERO's have given, and it motivates you to finish the task at hand.
To all those men and women in the history of our great country who paid the ultimate price, we have the deepest gratitude for your sacrifice.
The hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men.
